Summer School Coming Soon!

Elementary Parents:

I first want to thank you for your continued support of our school district and for the outstanding job you are doing to keep your student learning throughout this experience. I have witnessed and heard from many of our teachers about the great effort you are putting forth to keep your student moving forward. I want to assure you that you are doing a great job! Not many parents expected to become their child’s teacher in the middle of March, my wife & I included. We know distance learning is a different experience for each family, and we appreciate your effort.

Secondly, I wanted to update you on our status for the academic year. Following the Governor’s order for schools to be out the remainder of the school year, our last day of school will be May 15, 2020. It will be our goal to continue distance learning and our school based meals through this date. Please continue to encourage your student to work from his/her Go Math and Wonders books as well as math and reading lessons from iReady. We also want to encourage you to have your kids read every day. We ask you to go over your student’s work, instead of returning it to the school, since our teachers will not be returning to the buildings. If you have any questions or difficulties in this, feel free to email a photo of the work to your child’s teacher for assistance. We are planning for all elementary students to be promoted to the next grade level for next year.

As for grade cards, there will not be fourth quarter grades and therefore, no grade cards will go out.

Tentatively we are planning to have Summer School. Our goal would be to have a structured reading and math time for the essential material that we missed in the fourth quarter and the rest of the day would be like regular summer school. We will give the iReady diagnostic at the start of summer school to get a baseline score on our students. This will help guide our instruction as we move forward.

To enroll in summer school please contact your student’s school building or enroll online at or contact your teacher and let them know by May 1.

Our motto is “Together We Rise” and now more than ever is a time that we put that motto into action! Keep up the good work and please consider sending your students to summer school! We look forward to seeing them!

Go Mustangs!

Mr. Davis
