MVP Elks Scholarship Application
November 22, 2024 – Eldon Community Teachers Association (CTA) and Central Region Teachers Association Scholarship:
Eldon Community Teachers Association will award one non-renewable $500 scholarship to current year graduates that intend to enroll full time at a Missouri college or university in preparation for the teaching profession. The recipient of this scholarship will be considered for one of three non-renewable $500 scholarships from the Central Region Teachers Association. January 15, 2025 – Dr. Darrell “Jack” Holley/MUSIC Scholarship:
*** The scholarship link will show a due date of February 14th. Applications must first be submitted to the guidance office in order to be presented to the School Board on 1/22/25 for selection prior to the February 14th deadline. Only 1 application will move to the next level.
- All applications must be typed, no handwritten applications will be considered.

January 15, 2025 – Karen D. Brinkman Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is for students who attend/graduated from an approved program of
study in Missouri (as stated in Missouri statute, RSMO 167.031 – includes public, private, and
home school) or from Wayne City High School in Illinois. The student need not be a SWCS
member. Applicants must be in their senior year of high school, or in a full-time undergraduate
academic study. They must major in a conservation or natural resource-related field such as soil
science, land use planning, forestry, wildlife management, fisheries, agricultural engineering,
hydrology, rural sociology, agronomy, water management, agricultural economics, biology,
agricultural education, or related environmental protection or resource management curricula.
Applicants must attend, or plan to attend, a college or university that is properly accredited by
national or regional accrediting bodies, or their equivalence. Financial need will not be a factor in selection.

January 17, 2025 – JOHN F. KENNEDY Profiles in Courage Essay Contest:
- This scholarships award is open to high-school students nine through twelve.
- All students must register online at www.jfklibrary.org – lst place winter receives a $5,000 cash award and $5,000 to grow in a John Hancock 528 College Savings Plan, Second place winner receives $1,000 and there will be five finalists $500.
January 17th, 2025 – Optimist International Essay Contest.

January 31, 2025– Ed Stegner natural Resource Scholarship
Ed Stegner Natural Resource Scholarships were established to provide major financial aid to encourage and assist students in five areas of natural resource management: fisheries, forestry, wildlife, parks and recreation and soil and water conservation.

Open to Seniors who plan to pursue agriculture-related degrees. Student must pursue degrees from accredited college or universities. This is a non-renewable freshman scholarship. Click the following link to access the application.
February 26, 2024 – Miller County Democrat Committee Barbara Wright Scholarship
Open to all seniors that reside in Miller County and are continuing their education. One scholarship will be available for $500.00. You must fill out the attached application page and submit the documentation that is required. Please turn into the Guidance Office by 2/26/24.

March 1, 2024 – The American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year –
- Nominee must be a registered, active member of a Boy Scout Troop, Varsity Scout Team, or Venturing Crew chartered to an American Legion post.
- Received the Eagle Scout Award, be an active member of his religious institution and received the appropriate Boy Scout religious emblem.

Open to Missouri high school seniors whose parents or grandparents are customers of FCS Financial. Applicants will be judged on leadership roles, work experience, community involvement, knowledge of agriculture and finance. - GPA of 2.5 or higher
- ACT of 26 or rank in the top 20% of their senior class

March 11, 2024 – Charles, Elaine and Chuck Blum Scholarship; (NOT AVAILABLE FOR 2025)
The Charles, Elaine and Chuck Blum Scholarship has been established for a graduating senior of Eldon High School. Applicants that are members of the First Christian Church will have priority. If now First Christian Church has no graduating seniors then it will be opened up to All seniors of Eldon High School. Criteria includes;
- Plans to pursue a post-high school education.
- Is in need of financial assistance (submit FAFSA).
- Demonstrate Christian principles, citizenship, integrity and good character.
- Show determination to complete career goal.
- Have a GPA of at least 2.5.

Open to seniors from Eldon High School. Must be involved in vocal music or band. Must plan to attend a four year college and major in Education/Music. Music majors will have first priority.
Please provide the following information in a type written form, and include with the attached application.
- A letter of recommendation from a music instructor and one other teacher.
- A listing of all extracurricular activities including all music classes, organizations, awards and accomplishments.
- A short essay about your experience in the music field, your plans to use this scholarship and the value of music in your life.

April 1, 2025 – HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION OF CENTRAL MISSOURI
(2) Two Scholarships $1000.00 each awarded in May to two students who will be attending a two (2) or four (4) year college majoring in a construction related field the following Fall Semester – based on the following criteria:
- Employees or Family of Businesses related to the Building Industry and/or Students interested in fields of study related to the industry will get scholarship preference.
- Some basis of need
- Must meet close to one or more of the following:

- Academic Average – meet academic standards
- School Attendance – 90% attendance rate
- Participation in Extracurricular Activities – i.e. student organizations, jobs, community involvement

These scholarships will be presented at the May HBA of Central MO monthly meeting by the President of the association. This is a one-time, non repeating scholarship award.
Home Builders 2025 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
April 1, 2024 – Newkirk-Haynes Nursing Scholarship
Scholarship is available to any 2024 senior that is seeking a nursing degree. Please click the following for a downloadable application and criteria.
- Applicant must be planning to enroll in an accredited four-year college or university, a technical school, or junior college for the fall term of the current year. Applicants are limited to those who plan to study horticulture, plant science, conservation, forestry, Food Science, Turf Management and Landscaping.
- Applicants must attend Eldon High School.
- Applicants should have at least a grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Each scholarship must be used within nine months after receiving the award.
- Selection of the recipient will be by the Eldon Garden Club Scholarship committee. Selection will be based on achievement and career goals.

April 3, 2025 – National Honor Society
Open to all senior NHS members that are in good standing. Application can be downloaded at the following link.

April 4, 2025 – Carl H. Martin Scholarship;
A one time scholarship for $5000 will go to a senior in the class of 2025 that is majoring in Mathematics or Science. You must have at least a 2.5 GPA. Provide enrollment in you college or university of choice. Please fill out the following application and turn into Terri in the Guidance Office.
April 4, 2025 – Community and School Coaching Scholarship:
- Must be a 2025 graduate
- Applicant must be planning to enroll in an accredited four year college or university, a technical school, or junior college for the fall term of the current year.
- Applicant must have the intention of coaching during their career.

April 15, 2024 – Lake Area Master Gardener Scholarship:
• Applicants must submit a completed application package.
• Applicants may be in the final year of high school, be a high school graduate, or
be enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education, including technical
schools.
• Applicants must have a current GPA of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale.
• Applicants must plan to pursue a major relating to horticulture, landscape design,
environmental sciences, forestry, entomology, botany, agriculture, or other
related field. Preference will be given to applicants interested in plant sciences.
• Upon request, applicants must participate in an interview. Scholarship recipients
who are applying for renewal may also be asked to participate in an interview.

Lake Area Master Gardener Scholarship
April 15, 2024 – Miller County Farm Bureau:(Application will say 4/15/24 but if you want us to deliver them please turn in by 8:30AM on 4/15/24.
- A resident of Miller County
- Ag background (live on a farm or involved in 4-H or FFA)
- Will attend a college or technical school
- Ag major preferred (other areas of study will be considered)

- Applicants must be a member of the graduating class of 2024 and have attended the Eldon School District for a minimum of 4 years (total during K-12)
- Plan to attend an accredited university, college, or community college to pursue a degree in education
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (weighted or non-weighted)

April 18, 2024 – Hamels Foundation Scholarships
This Scholarship is for any Eldon High School graduating senior with a desire to continue their education. Winners will be determined by the Hamels Foundation. Applications must be turned in by April 18th to the Guidance Office. The Hamels Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by ’08 World Series MVP Pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies, Cole Hamels and his wife Heidi (Strobel) Hamels. The Hamels Foundation believes education is the answer to poverty. Applications can be obtained by clicking the following links. Hamels Foundation Scholarship Application
April 20, 2024 – “The American Legion Scholarships”
- Students must be a resident of Missouri, under the age of 21, unmarried and a descendant of a veteran with at least ninety days active service in any form of military branch who received an Honorable Discharge for such service.
- A photocopy of the veteran’s DD214, discharge or separation notice must accompany the scholarship application.
- Additional requirements for each scholarship are on the reverse side of the application.

April 25, 2024 – Eldon Friends of Music:
Student must have participated in the Eldon High School music program. Selection is based on point system of accumulated number of points over four years of participation. Student must be planning to major in music at an accredited college in one of the following areas, Education, Performance, Business or Therapy. The scholarship is $400.00 for on year, payable to the college by semester, student should have a 3.0 overall GPA. This scholarship is non-renewable. May 1, 2023, Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Business Scholarship:
The Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that scholarships are now available for 2023 graduating
high school seniors pursuing further education in business. At least one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. This
scholarship is being made available through generous contributions of the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce member
businesses to develop and support future business and community leaders. Applicants must be employed by a member
business, possess a minimum GPA of 2.75, provide proof of acceptance in a business, or business-affiliated program
(such as marketing etc) at an accredited 2 or 4 year college/university or an accredited post-secondary technical school. Please click the following link to access the application. Turn in your applications to Terri in the Guidance Office by 3pm, May 1st.
